Palaver IRC App Reviews

I had been using Colloquy for the longest time but got fed up with the giant channel icons and overall responsiveness. Palaver has been great plus the night mode is very nice.

Really, this is the best IRC client for iOS. Im super impressed with the user interface. Pairing up Palaver + ZNC produces a fantastic mobile IRC experience.

Ive been using Palaver every day since October 2014. It has made my commutes so much more bearable, and it is well worth the small price. Its probably my favorite iOS app ever. The interface is beautiful, the standard features are all there and work great: ZNC support, push notifications, and more recently nickname autocomplete. One unique feature I really love is the setting that changes the interface color based on screen brightness. None of my other apps do that, and I wish it was a more common feature. The standard bright theme is great for the daytime, and then when I get frantic pings at 4am because a server went down, I dont have to burn my eyes to read the messages! If youre looking for an IRC app, you can stop looking now. Get Palaver, its awesome.

Tried all the others. This one is best. Built in imgur support is best thing ever. I wish PC based clients supported this. Needs ban list support (/MODE B) so bans can be managed easier. Yes, its a mobile client but if theres support to set bans, there should be support to unset as well.

I was hoping this IRC would be different but it just disconnects me from chats if I leave the app. There should be an option to keep you connected at all times. Even if you leave the app or lock your phone. Another feature that would be nice is the ability to get notifications if youre in waiting in queue on a chat room. There are two chat rooms that offer support, but the wait time is looooong (8+ hours). If we can add/fix these features, this app can definitely be a 5 star app.

Ive tried a variety of them in the last few days (can I name Colloquy and Limechat here?) and Palaver blows them out of the water - theres just no reason to use anything else.

All my previous complaints were fixed and the new features are great. One of the better, if not the best IRC client available for iOS.

This is definitely the best looking IRC app on the App Store. However, it does disconnect from the channel after using 1 or 2 different applications. This application will not hold a connection while in the background making it a tremendous pain to use.
