Needs serious support and bug fixes

Update: Latest version 2.1.1 crashes on iOS 7 when connecting to ZNC. Reinstalling does not help. Keep hoping for a working update, each one says it fixes bugs but creates new crashers. Update: Latest version 2.1.0 (1281) crashes instantly on iOS 7. Wiping app and settings, then reinstalling and recreating settings seems to work. Developers continue to ignore support channels. Avoid. Clean and functional when it works, but unstable and support is non-existent. Resource intensive, takes forever to load single channels/queries, kills battery. iPad version has some really bad layout bugs.

Way too slow

Entering channels takes several seconds and scrolling through channel content stutters. Very difficult to actually use because of this.

its ok

its a ok app. looks nice, technically functional. but the interface lag is so bad its unusable imho. fix this lag and ill 5star this bad boy =)

Palaver fails

This is the worst irc app in the store. Support third party keyboards before you launch you failures.

Extremely frustrating to type

2.1.1: Palaver has slowly been getting better at working with iOS autocorrect and name completion. The past few updates have made typing messages significantly better, although there are a few minor issues left. 2.0: Ever since the major 2.0 update there have been a bunch of extremely annoying bugs while typing messages. The way Palaver tries to autocomplete names interferes with the iOS keyboards own predictive typing making it very frustrating to use. Now in the latest version, it keeps screwing around with what I type and adds in a bunch of nonsense two character words followed by a space instead of whatever I actually typed. Then I have to go back and delete the jibberish and attempt to retype everything, but it usually ends up running into the same stupid bug and screws up my input again. It makes it almost impossible to send a coherent message sometimes. Fix the buggy autocomplete, please.

Fix it

It keeps randomly crashing on iPad Air 2 and on ios 8.3 after few minutes :( this is also true for colloquy but at least there is much less frequent.

No.

No background functionality

Worked Great, Then Didnt

When I updated to iOS7 the app still worked fine, but then the app got an update to change its UI to conform to the new minimalistic look. Since then, the app crashes every time on startup on my iPhone 4S. Hope this gets fixed in the future, was a great app.

New update works great!

This app is great for chatting on irc via mobile. The recent update fixed the the crash issue it used to have on iOS 7! Im excited to be able to use this app again.

Best iOS IRC client

This is the best IRC client for iOS by far. Wonderful attention to detail, recently updated. Makes connecting to a ZNC server a breeze with a ZNC module available on github.

Could be better

I like the app. Is there any way that I can close the windows/tabs that I dont use anymore though? I tried to do it but I couldnt figure out how. I also emailed you guys but I got no response which kind of sucked.

Even better than before.

I cant say enough about how great this application is. This is by far the best implementation of IRC for iOS. The developer is active and keeps pushing out great updates, the design is refreshing and elegant. If you need an IRC client. This is it! 150% totally worth the price.

The best mobile IRC client

This is the best mobile client you can get for IRC. The new update was just superb. Inline media and all the bug fixes solved everything :) Keep it up!

Best IRC client for iOS

This is easily the best IRC client for iOS but it occasionally crashes when I try to complete a nick. I would like to see: * nick completion like IRCCloud * user mode before nick (e.g. @Ethan)

Terrible

Downloaded this irc client only to have it crash every time I open the app. Tried to download it again and connect only to have the same thing happen. Dont it buy it simply doesnt work.

Crashes everyone time I open it

Save your money

Palaver is the best mobile IRC Client. Period.

Palaver is an amazing IRC client for any device; but the fact that it sits in my pocket and allows me to have a full and rich IRC experience wherever I go is amazing. I have been an IRC addict for over 20 years and have used clients on all sorts of devices to feed my need; but nothing outside of a full computer has given me the experience that Palaver delivers. What’s more is that every concern, feature request, or modification I have wished for the author has been responsive to. The support for the client is amazing and the product is polished. The ZNC module ties a bow around this awesome gift to the IRC community.

cant connect to any network

i cant connect to SwiftIRC or Freenode with this app. is there anything im doing wrong? im using data and not wifi so there shouldnt be any issues related the a firewall. will update rating to 5 stars if i get some help with this.

Crashes

It crashes on startup every time. Ive had the app for a long time. Maybe this new update crashes for long time users but works for a fresh install? Edit: fresh install crashes.

Works really well with weechat relay

Im using palaver with weechat as an IRC relay and everything works really well. Im impressed. Ive tried several other clients for iOS and none of them were usable at all. This one is awesome!
